I saw Darren in NY aswell (29th), although I must say, about Unlovable, I think the 'less sad' version is sort of like, turning something sad, into something more positive and it's sort of Darren saying "okay, this happened, I was sad about this, but I'm not gonna be sad about it anymore and I'm going to turn it into something more positive sounding".
