Description:

Art photos of Cher along with a track from her 1973 album "Halfbreed" that seems to be lost as it is missing from the multitude of reissues and repackaging of one of her bigest hit albums. "David's Song" was track #7 on the initial release in 1973...but went missing after that. It was written by David Paich who at the time was a band member with Sonny and Cher along with the late Jeff Porcaro who was their musical director. Basically I found that the entire band Toto worked with or for Sonny and Cher in the 1970's and Cher attended the same high school as founding memebers of Toto... David has worked with Cher off and on over the years.. David played keyboards and worked on Halfbreed 1973 Cher Bittersweet White Light 1973 Cher Prisoner 1979 Cher Take Me Home 1979 Cher Heart of Stone 1990 Cher Love Hurts 1991 David Paich and Jeff Pocaro later went on to form the band Toto... more about David from Wikipedia... David Paich (born David Frank Paich on June 25, 1954 in Los Angeles, California) is a session musician from the 1980s, keyboard player, vocalist and main composer of the Los Angeles based rock/pop band Toto. David is the son of jazz composer Marty Paich. David Paich is one of the most prolific songwriters of the 1980s. He wrote "Rosanna", "99", "Hold the Line", and most of Toto's hits over the years, including several 1970s hits by pop artists (such as Cheryl Lynn's hit, "Got To Be Real"). David co-wrote the 1982 hit, "Africa", along with Toto's drummer Jeff Porcaro. David also sang lead vocals on the song. He has co-writing credits with Boz Scaggs on the songs "What Can I Say", "Lowdown", and occasionally still sits in on keyboards with Boz Scaggs' band. He is still writing and performing with Toto, although he has opted to remain closer to the L.A. area and not tour extensively with the band. Session Keyboardist Greg Phillinganes joined Toto in 2005 as an additional keyboardist for both studio projects and tour dates. As a session musician David played on a lot of soundtracks and on albums of the following artists: Elkie Brooks album Rich Man's Woman, Bryan Adams song "Please Forgive Me", Michael Jackson songs "Earth Song", "The Girl Is Mine", "Heal the world", USA for Africa song "We Are The World" and many many more. *************************************************** Strang Cher is not mentioned here...It has been rumored that at some point they dated..I also found that his late father, Marty Paich was the musical conductor for The Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour and worked on some of their early 1970's recordings as well. Enjoy this lost gem..

It is is on my Universal 1999's CD release titled, "Bittersweet - The Love Songs Collection!" No wonder, one night, the lyrics just popped in my head from the old vinyl. Cuz I hadn't heard it ENOUGH!
