Description: Katharine McPhee: The True American Idol. I hate to admit it, but up until a few rounds of the Top 24, I really hadn't pinpointed Katharine as possible winner. When this season started, I kind of began to hate all those who the cameras followed around their house, giving their life-stories and such. I know they do it every season, but I was SO against them deciding who the resident rocker, country girl, crooner, etc. would be for the season, I tuned them out and tried to focus on those with good voices; those who wouldn't get votes based on depressing family tragedies or upsetting 'my father is in jail' stories. I felt that they were trying to force-feed us potential winners. Paris Bennett I liked. Kellie Pickler,not so much. Chris Daughtry, maybe. I knew Katharine could sing well, but as far as picking a favorite, she wasn't even on my list. Until this performance. A lot of people complain that she gets 'chipmunky', and in this song, I'll regret saying this later, it kind of shows. But she's still sexy. Still a great vocalist. Still better than Taylor Hicks.
