prrolg ::: Favorites I don't know really. They voted it in I think for job security. Don't know enough to say why they keep it. I do know alot of work is contracted out that used to be done by employees. I'll ask the guy I used to work with when I see him. prrolg ::: Favorites Here are some details. The company kept the union out by matching union perks for decades. The downsizing was done in preparation for a merger with Chicago. The union came in later and mopped up.The were glad the downsizing happened because it finally gave them a foothold denied them for yrs. The union guys steal hours now to show power and unity. They tried for decades to unionize the employees and were finally at least partially successful after 1995 downsizing.Did'nt help the 30% and the union did'nt care about them.
