prrolg ::: Favorites I don't know really. They voted it in I think for job security. Don't know enough to say why they keep it. I do know alot of work is contracted out that used to be done by employees. I'll ask the guy I used to work with when I see him. Many of the employees are not union to this day as well. 07-09-12 17:42:05 __________________________________________________
JBuckley ::: Favorites Didn't the workers vote for the union, and if they're unhappy, can't they vote it out? 07-09-12 16:24:10 __________________________________________________
prrolg ::: Favorites Here are some details. The company kept the union out by matching union perks for decades. The downsizing was done in preparation for a merger with Chicago. The union came in later and mopped up.The were glad the downsizing happened because it finally gave them a foothold denied them for yrs. The union guys steal hours now to show power and unity. It is a tense situation now my friend tells me. One guy rode his motorcycle into a hallway once just to blow off steam. Funny. 07-09-11 20:07:31 __________________________________________________
JBuckley ::: Favorites Sorry. The freakshow in the skirt was part of the performance. 07-09-11 10:57:30 __________________________________________________
JBuckley ::: Favorites You help make my point. The company without the union downsized and screwed over 30% of their employees. How did their stock do after the downsizing? Was the union supposed to get the downsized people their jobs back? And how are the workers "stealing hours?" 07-09-11 10:56:26 __________________________________________________
prrolg ::: Favorites Hey dude,Peco Energy Co. downsized 30% of its employees. They tried for decades to unionize the employees and were finally at least partially successful after 1995 downsizing.Did'nt help the 30% and the union did'nt care about them. And union workers are stealing more hours than ever. 07-09-11 09:04:55 __________________________________________________
utubeindc ::: Favorites I love Bragg's music, I respect his passion for justice and peace. Just wish the camera had focused soley on him and not the freak show in a skirt. 07-09-10 21:43:13 __________________________________________________
JBuckley ::: Favorites Fucked like 20 years of wage stagnation, downsizing, outsourcing and dropping employee benefits while CEO salaries and productivity explode? Oh wait, that's after a decline in union membership. 07-09-10 11:57:04 __________________________________________________
prrolg ::: Favorites A cross dresser in a cheerleading uniform. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. Union = fucked 07-09-09 08:13:06 __________________________________________________
Brokstedter ::: Favorites "But it all amounts to nothing,if together we don't stand".What Billy is singing about is power in a group with the same aims standing together. What you are talking about is a number of countries, that in Scotlands case was a union forced upon the people against their wishes. And it seems a fair proportion of the population are still not happy with the "Union".You can see with the Soviet Union, Yugoslavia and Hitlers greater Germany that such "Unions" don't always work. 07-09-07 09:19:07 __________________________________________________ |
